Body Positivity – Boudoir Photos

As a human the one thing we all really struggle with is body positivity. No matter what state we are in, we will always look at someone else in person or online and say “I wish I looked like that”. It’s such a terrible way to be and I hate that I can’t be thankful for what God has given me. I hate that I truly took advantage when I was younger and when I was actually thinner than ever but still complained about how I looked. It seems like there’s never a good in between.

When it came time for me to think of a wedding present for Nathan I always said I wanted to do boudoir photos but didn’t feel confident enough to do them because of the way my body looked. I gained weight the year before and just didn’t feel too positive to do anything like this. Well, something in my head just told me to do it.

I reached out to one of my favorite ladies Amanda about doing these photos for me. We worked together previously and I always loved the way our photos came out plus I was so comfortable with her and thought she would do an amazing job.

Amanda at that point had never done any boudoir photos but she was so excited to do them for me! We did them at a studio in Ball Ground, GA where I had been before working weddings. They use it as a bridal getting ready area and for styled shoots. It was the perfect space for us!

The day of the shoot I was nervous but so excited. I trusted Amanda to do a great job and make me feel good about myself. Within a few shots in I was way more comfortable than I thought I would be and after seeing a little preview on her camera, I was excited to keep shooting. It’s amazing how in the moment you feel totally different and don’t think about all the things you originally were worried about.

At the end of our shoot I was just so excited to see the final outcome of the photos. It felt like such a long wait but I knew it would be worth it. When the photos came in from Amanda a few weeks later, I was in love. I was amazed at the way I not only looked but how confident I could tell I felt. When I did these photos I wanted them to just be pretty. I didn’t want anything overly sexy because that is totalllyyy not me lol. Pretty was good and that’s exactly how they turned out.

I was more than excited to put a book of the photos together for Nathan. I used Shutterfly to put the book together and it was more than perfect. When it came in the mail I was so excited to see the physical copy and give it to Nathan but had to wait a while until the wedding day.

When the wedding day came I decided I was going to wait until that night to give it to Nathan. Again, the story I need to tell about after the wedding will come soon lol but when getting to our hotel room I was sooo nervous to hand over the book to Nathan. When I gave it to him he was just so surprised because he had NO idea I even did the shoot. Woohoo that was a success for me! I wanted it to be a surprise for him and i’m glad I could pull it off. He loved the photos and he was so proud of me for doing them. He’s the sweetest guy I could ever ask for and glad he loved his wedding gift.

At the end of all this, I just want to remind everyone to stay positive and not be so hard on yourself for how you feel or think you look. It’s amazing at what our minds can do to ourselves and all the games it plays. Constantly be confident in what God gave you. I was so happy that something as simple as these photos could make me realize that I was proud to be in the skin I am in and I FELT truly beautiful.

I have attached a few photos from the shoot. They are ones that can be shown lol

Thank you Amanda for making me feel so beautiful and for the amazing photos!

Tennessee Anniversary Surprise

Valentine’s Day marked my three year anniversary with my sweet fiancé. Nathan had a special day planned for us the following weekend and he wanted to surprise me with some of my favorite things.

Early Saturday morning we got in the car to start our adventure. Our first drive was about two hours long and I had no idea where we were going! I kind of had an idea but I wasn’t totally sure about it.

As we got to these back roads I started to see signs for horseback riding and right then I was so excited! Horse back riding is something I love to do and the fact that he planned this fun things for us to do made it even more special!

We had an hour long trial ride and it was perfect! I wish I was allowed to bring my real camera to get some amazing shots but I wasn’t able to!

After our first adventure, Nathan had something else planned. So we got in the car and drove another two hours to our next destination. We stopped at this beautiful lake along the way to capture a few photos and admire God’s beautiful creation!

Our next destination was Chattanooga, Tennessee! I had been wanting to make a day trip here for a while now and I just love how Nathan paid attention to everything I said the last few weeks and planned around the things he heard I was wanting to do. I am so thankful for a sweet man who really listens.

We explored the city and then went to the Tennessee Aquarium. This was such a sweet little date for the two of us. We enjoyed every second of it!

I was happy I ended up bringing another set of clothes just in case the weather permitted and they totally came in handy!

Here’s a few photos from the aquarium and roaming along the river!

Lulu’s Delivery!

I have always heard so much about Lulu’s and how great they are. I truly have the hardest time finding things online that fit me well and that I love as much in person as I did online. This package was one I was so anxious to get and I couldn’t wait for it to get here!

It’s a special item for something coming up. Can you guess what it’s for?!

When I tried it on I was so ecstatic that it fit perfectly. Praise the Lord for that! I am so excited to wear this beautiful piece.

I look forward to receiving more packages from Lulu’s in the near future.

Here’s a link to their site!

Let me know if you order anything from them and tell them Blair sent you 🙂

We’re Engaged!

I can’t believe we’re engaged!! I keep looking down at my hand and keep forgetting it’s real. It’s a day I have been really anxious for and now that is has happened, I am so happy.

I honestly wasn’t expecting anything to happen. After church I went to my friend Rachel’s house and after that I met up with Sarah to take pictures of her and Reid. Well little did I now that was just a coverup for the proposal! We went and got our nails done because she wanted her nails to look good for pictures. Well I guess they just wanted my nails to look good for pictures! After our nail date we headed to Starbucks of course.

I was really quiet and to myself and I really feel bad now looking back because Sarah and her friend Maddie were doing all they could to make sure I was surprised and they knew what was about to happen.

When we arrived to Kennesaw Mountain we had a long walk from the parking lot til we made it to the building to meet with Reid who was in uniform and looked extremely handsome and I knew their photos were going to look great! Well as we started walking through the field Sarah ended up taking my camera from me and was “practicing” taking pictures. As we started getting further in the field and closer to the trees I saw a blanket laid out and remember saying that would be a good prop for us to use if someone left it there!

As we made our way closer I suddenly saw Nathan walk out from behind a tree with roses in his hand. In that moment I knew exactly what was about to happen. And it finally made sense why he wasn’t talking to me all day after I left him after church! I couldn’t be too upset anymore!

I set down my purse and my Starbucks drink and made my way to Nathan. He handed me the flowers, gave me a hug and started saying the sweetest things to me. (Which we both can’t even remember) At that moment, I was the happiest and most emotional girl in the world. When he got down on his knee it all suddenly became so real. Hearing those words is the most incredible thing. I was so ecstatic to say yes!!

After he put the ring on my finger and gave me a hug I remember hearing cheering in the background and turning around to see both of our families walking our way. I am so happy everyone was there to experience this moment in our lives. And I am so thankful for Sarah and helping him pull it all off so last minute!!

Why was it pulled off so last minute you may be asking? Well… our “family only” trip to Tennessee made me really suspicious that he wasn’t allowed to go.. because normally he’s invited everywhere we go. I just had a feeling something was off and kept telling my friends I had a feeling that he would be proposing while we were there. Well turns out, I was right. I hate how I find out everything and that I am never surprised with anything because I ruin it for myself in the long run. So Nathan made plan b.

He did really great for something so last minute!! I think he’s happy it’s over so he can finally rest and not be so anxious for it! I can’t wait for both of families to be in Tennessee next weekend to celebrate together! What an exciting time in our lives!! Morgan (his sister) is getting married next October so we really get to plan together!

I’m excited for this next step in our lives and excited to see what else will come! Oh how I love this man.

See our proposal video here !!
