Wedding Planner Luncheon

On Wednesday another one of our WBE girls and I went to a wedding planner luncheon in Atlanta. It was an event to showcase a new venue and to connect with other wedding industry creatives and professionals. I love going to events like these to meet new people and see new trends in the industry! It’s amazing to see other vendors showcase their talent. I loved meeting new people and just spending the day with my sweet friend. I wanted to just share a few photos from the event of details I loved.

The flowers were stunning, the food was great and it was such a fun time! I can’t wait to go to more events like this so soon to meet more wedding industry professionals.

Our Wedding: Details and Decor

Hi friends! I’m back with my first detailed wedding post! I am so excited to share many aspects of our day with all of you. I wanted to space out photos into different posts so I could share my favorite moments from our wedding day. I just love being able to share one of the greatest days of our lives with so many people.

Today I am sharing the details and decor from our wedding day. I was honestly extremely simple and laid back when it came to decor because I didn’t want anything over done and just wanted it to be simple. My absolute favorite look is candle light and that’s the biggest thing I wanted to achieve. I wanted our wedding day to truly be about us and our marriage and not let the things that ultimately don’t matter, get in the way. I really do love how detailed brides get and I see some of the most beautiful things every weekend I work a wedding but I just kept things pretty simple 🙂

Below are some of my favorite photos of our decor and detailed items from the wedding day!

I had a David Tutera gown that I purchased from Bravura at East Cobb Avenues. I was on the hunt for a dress exactly like what I got and I knew the second it was on the rack that it was the dress. I put it on and all the emotions hit and I knew instantly!

I created our wedding suite and loved pulling these details together. I purchased opal envelopes that had a pretty shine to them and then used belly bands to pull all the cards together and then finished it with a card with our initials on it. It was tedious but turned out so beautiful. Thank you to Metro Graphics for doing all the printing for us!

Rings from Kay Jewelers! Love my Neil Lane rings paired with two unique bands surrounding it. Nathan surprised me during our ceremony with the second one!

Another surprise from Nathan on our wedding day. He got me a set of pearl earrings and a necklace. They’re all so beautiful and I wear my pearl earrings every day!

Nathan and I wrote our own vows. I am so glad we did it. I thought I was going to faint reading them in front of everyone but luckily I survived! LOL!

It’s the best being able to repurpose items you already own! This mirror we had in our dining room and his aunt Sarah wrote on it for us as our welcome sign. She did much better than I would ever be able to do! We had greenery on top of it but it blew off :/

Gold china, silverware and champagne glasses.  It was so beautiful! We also had these thank you cards at every place setting. The silverware is from Hobby Lobby. I got the two sets on clearance after Christmas. Always look out for deals y’all! The champagne glasses are from Wayfair and our plates are from Kroger. It was crazy when we found them because we were in Ohio at the time and just came across them. They’re incredible!

Want a wedding cake hack? Sam’s Club. I know, sounds crazy but if you aren’t a huge cake person like me, this did the job for something for us to just cut in to but was also sooo good. Put some flowers on top and bam, a beautiful cake! (Also, it was only $65 for  three tier. Can’t go wrong there.) Cake topper is from Etsy too!

This was one of my favorite touches to our wedding day. I had this made from Etsy and it had some lyrics from the song we danced to as our first dance.

We used a glass terrarium for cards that I found from Michaels. They don’t have the exact one on their website anymore but there were a few others to choose from!

Body Positivity – Boudoir Photos

As a human the one thing we all really struggle with is body positivity. No matter what state we are in, we will always look at someone else in person or online and say “I wish I looked like that”. It’s such a terrible way to be and I hate that I can’t be thankful for what God has given me. I hate that I truly took advantage when I was younger and when I was actually thinner than ever but still complained about how I looked. It seems like there’s never a good in between.

When it came time for me to think of a wedding present for Nathan I always said I wanted to do boudoir photos but didn’t feel confident enough to do them because of the way my body looked. I gained weight the year before and just didn’t feel too positive to do anything like this. Well, something in my head just told me to do it.

I reached out to one of my favorite ladies Amanda about doing these photos for me. We worked together previously and I always loved the way our photos came out plus I was so comfortable with her and thought she would do an amazing job.

Amanda at that point had never done any boudoir photos but she was so excited to do them for me! We did them at a studio in Ball Ground, GA where I had been before working weddings. They use it as a bridal getting ready area and for styled shoots. It was the perfect space for us!

The day of the shoot I was nervous but so excited. I trusted Amanda to do a great job and make me feel good about myself. Within a few shots in I was way more comfortable than I thought I would be and after seeing a little preview on her camera, I was excited to keep shooting. It’s amazing how in the moment you feel totally different and don’t think about all the things you originally were worried about.

At the end of our shoot I was just so excited to see the final outcome of the photos. It felt like such a long wait but I knew it would be worth it. When the photos came in from Amanda a few weeks later, I was in love. I was amazed at the way I not only looked but how confident I could tell I felt. When I did these photos I wanted them to just be pretty. I didn’t want anything overly sexy because that is totalllyyy not me lol. Pretty was good and that’s exactly how they turned out.

I was more than excited to put a book of the photos together for Nathan. I used Shutterfly to put the book together and it was more than perfect. When it came in the mail I was so excited to see the physical copy and give it to Nathan but had to wait a while until the wedding day.

When the wedding day came I decided I was going to wait until that night to give it to Nathan. Again, the story I need to tell about after the wedding will come soon lol but when getting to our hotel room I was sooo nervous to hand over the book to Nathan. When I gave it to him he was just so surprised because he had NO idea I even did the shoot. Woohoo that was a success for me! I wanted it to be a surprise for him and i’m glad I could pull it off. He loved the photos and he was so proud of me for doing them. He’s the sweetest guy I could ever ask for and glad he loved his wedding gift.

At the end of all this, I just want to remind everyone to stay positive and not be so hard on yourself for how you feel or think you look. It’s amazing at what our minds can do to ourselves and all the games it plays. Constantly be confident in what God gave you. I was so happy that something as simple as these photos could make me realize that I was proud to be in the skin I am in and I FELT truly beautiful.

I have attached a few photos from the shoot. They are ones that can be shown lol

Thank you Amanda for making me feel so beautiful and for the amazing photos!

Bridal Portraits

Hi guys!

I’m back with another wedding related post! Back in January my photographer and I scheduled a bridal session. Backtrack a month previous… Nathan and I decided to go a different route with photography and this involved booking a new photographer from what we originally booked. We realized we really loved a brighter style for our wedding photos and not dark and moody. I LOVE both but for our wedding day I just wanted them to be bright and airy. Sooo when reaching out to my current photographer, Kelsey, with the package we were wanting we could do another engagement session or a bridal shoot. The bridal shoot it was! Nathan and I had just done a winter shoot with our videographer and decided we didn’t need more photos of us until the wedding.

When our shoot date came up it was easily 30 degrees or less out with a little bit wind.. I’m sure Kelsey really wanted to choose another day but with my schedule I just couldn’t fit it in! So we did the shoot in the freezing cold lol I think adrenaline hit me and I didn’t feel anything. We went to a place called Cator Woolford Gardens. I saw so many beautiful photos from here and knew I wanted to do the bridal portraits with this beautiful staircase!

I loved being able to do a hair trial and get dolled up for the shoot. On the wedding day, we switched up my hair a bit and so glad we did! My wedding dress is something I could wear over and over and over again if I could. I just loved it so much!!

Again, thank you Kelsey for photos I will cherish forever!

Our Sweet Honeymoon Getaway

What a blast our honeymoon was! Nathan and I went to a cute little place called Aly’s Beach in Florida. It was somewhere I just loved when I visited last summer and knew it would be the perfect place for us to go. There were so many options of places to go but with it being spring break season, all of the resorts and all-inclusive places were so ridiculously priced. So we figured AirBnb was the way to go this time!

We left for our honeymoon on Sunday after our wedding and made the almost 6 hour drive. I’ll be honest, I was absolutely exhausted and sick from the night before (a story I for sure have to tell you all- in another post).

When we arrived to our sweet little place, all I wanted to do was sleep but I was so excited to explore our new home for the week. The next day was really rainy so we spent it out driving around and shopping. This seemed to be the trend for the rest of the week as the weather was just too cold to be hanging out on the beach :(. We made the best of it though!

Here’s some photos of our vacation together!

Y’all… this place is just the best ever! We wanted some bagels one morning and happened to come across this place online and luckily is was just a few minutes from where we were. We wanted to go back every morning because it was that good… We may have even gotten some of their apparel because we loved it that much LOL! (Nathan’s hat above)

Our December Wedding

Hey everyone! I know I haven’t shown you anything we have done wedding flowers wise with our business. Earlier last year I hinted at something my mom and I were starting but I don’t think I ever officially told you what we were doing.

Well, we opened up our flower business and it has been crazy busy! We have so many bookings for this year and had quite a few from last year. I wanted to share with you a wedding we did in December for my sweet friend, Megan. She had a specific vision and I loved seeing it come to life. I have never been so nervous about a wedding before but hers was one for the books.

She had a unique and different look she wanted to come to life on her wedding day and we had the pleasure of doing it! I can’t wait to share these photos with you!

Wedding Goals

Well guys, the wedding planner got to be the bride! My sweet boss got married earlier this month and wedding goals is an understatement. I have never been so in awe of the details of an event and how beautifully it all came together.

Karen looked like an actual princess and I have never been so happy to see someone get married. Every single moment was just perfect and I couldn’t have been any more honored to attend. It was so great being with all of the girls from our company getting all dressed up being able to ATTEND a wedding and just totally enjoy the entire thing.

I really just wanted to share a few photos with everyone from the night because it was just too perfect not to.

If you want to see how I did my hair and makeup, let me know in the comments ❤

Wedding Hair Help!

Hi sweet friends!

As our wedding is quickly approaching, I am now making last minute decisions of things I just simply haven’t even really made my mind up on! So, last week I did a bridal portrait shoot. It was something that I decided to do after rebooking a new photographer.  It was either that or another engagement session. I thought why not do something different? It gave me a chance to get all dolled up in everything I’ll be wearing for our wedding day! The biggest thing I am struggling with is my hair.. do I go up or down?!

I think I am having a hard time because I just want to be totally myself. I am always a hair down kind of gal and pull some back with a poof to add a little something. But, I just also love the classic updo look and I’m stuck trying to figure out what I want to do! So, this is what you’re here for… help!

Below are photos of my hair that we did for a trial for the shoot. I guess I really just need to wait and see photos from the shoot and then decide based on how the photos came out. Mind you, it was 30 degrees out when we did the shoot. That’s what happens when you’re a busy gal with no other spare time hehe

My hair would be something to this degree for the wedding day. I’m all about my braids!

Now, below are photos of how I did my hair for my bosses wedding the next day. (Will be doing a post on her wedding because #goals)

I am stuck between both hair styles because they’re both just so great. What are you guys thinking?!

What did you do for your wedding day? Classic up and out of your face or down and more like you? I want all the opinions on what worked best and was the most functional.

Happy Friday friends!

Our Couples Shower

Ahh a wedding event! This was just the beginning of showers. A couples shower was something I wanted more than anything particularly for Nathan. I wanted him to have something that included him and his friends. You always see a ton of bridal showers for the bride and I feel bad for the grooms because there’s really never anything special for them! So this was something I felt was important for us to have so Nathan could celebrate with his friends.

My two bridesmaids Sarah and Kendall came together to throw us this little shower that was just perfect for the two of us. We had the most important and special people there with us. It felt so nice doing something with our friends! When you have such a long engagement, everything feels so dragged out and I think that’s the hardest part about being someone who plans everything and gets things done quickly and then you’re just patiently waiting for the next thing to come along.

I’m really upset I didn’t get more photos of everything Sarah and Kendall did! When you’re so in the moment of everything and chatting with everyone there, you forget to do the little things. So, I have gathered some of the (not so great quality) photos I have with my favorite people! I wish I had photos with every single person that was there.

I’m so thankful for Kendall and Sarah for bringing this together. They did a great job making it just so perfect and exactly what we wanted. The food y’all… SO good. They made some really awesome soups. It was a cold and rainy day so these food options were just perfect. We had a bunch of other finger foods and snacks. Most importantly, the cake… Holy moly Kendall did an amazing job with this cake. I honestly don’t even know what kind of cake it was but it had some coconut in it and wow was it good.

We can’t wait as these months go by to be able to see more things like this unfold and for on our wedding day to be surrounded by so many people we genuinely love. Oh how I love, LOVE!

I wanted to go ahead and link where my dress is from. Jessa Kae has become one of my favorite sites for purchasing dresses. She has the prettiest florals and they’re so comfortable too. I’ve fallen in love with so many pieces and cant wait to share another one I have that I will be wearing for our company Christmas party! Here is the dress that I wore for the couples shower. It was so perfect for the shower and you may have seen it in another post before to ;). You can use my code allthingsblair10 at check out for a discount!
